Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Note: This is a template terms of service document. Please consult a lawyer before launch to ensure full legal compliance.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using WireHours (the “Service”), operated by WireHours (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Service Description

WireHours is a record-keeping tool designed to help electrical apprentices track their on-the-job training hours against state-specific licensing requirements.

Important: WireHours is NOT legal advice. We are a record-keeping and compliance-tracking tool. We do not guarantee that any state licensing board will accept records generated through our Service. Licensing requirements change, and it is your responsibility to verify current requirements with your state's licensing board.

3. Disclaimer of Guarantees

While we make every effort to accurately reflect each state's electrical licensing requirements:

  • We do NOT guarantee that your state board will accept WireHours-generated records or forms.
  • State requirements may change. We update our compliance engine regularly, but there may be delays between regulatory changes and our updates.
  • We are NOT a substitute for consulting your state licensing board, your JATC, or a licensed professional.
  • The hour categories, caps, and minimums in our system are our best-effort interpretation of published regulations.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of WireHours, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information when logging hours and employment details.
  • Not fabricate, falsify, or misrepresent work hours or employment records.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Not attempt to access other users' data or circumvent our security measures.
  • Not use the Service to harass, abuse, or send spam to supervisors or other users.

Falsifying work records is a serious offense that can result in license denial, fines, and criminal penalties. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are being used to submit fraudulent records.

5. Accounts & Subscriptions

Free Tier

The Free tier is available at no cost for individual apprentices, with no time limit. Free tier features may be modified, but we will not remove core hour-tracking functionality from existing free accounts.

Paid Subscriptions (Pro & Contractor)

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Settings page.
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.
  • If your subscription lapses, you retain access to your data but lose access to Pro/Contractor features. Your data is never deleted due to non-payment.

Refunds

We offer a full refund within 14 days of your first subscription payment if the Service does not meet your expectations. After 14 days, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@wirehours.app for refund requests.

6. Data Ownership

Your data belongs to you.

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or enter into WireHours, including hour entries, employer information, documents, and verification records.

  • You can export all your data at any time via the Settings page.
  • You can permanently delete all your data at any time via account deletion.
  • We do not claim ownership of your content.
  • We may use anonymized, aggregated data (that cannot identify you) to improve the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • WireHours is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of licensing opportunities, delayed license applications, lost wages, or data loss.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
  • We are not liable for the actions of supervisors, employers, state licensing boards, or any third party.

8. Termination

You may close your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon account deletion:

  • All your data is permanently deleted (hour entries, employers, documents, verifications).
  • Any active Stripe subscription is cancelled.
  • Uploaded files are removed from storage.
  • This action is irreversible. We recommend exporting your data before deletion.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to: submitting fraudulent records, abusing the verification system, or attempting to compromise the security of the Service.

9. Intellectual Property

The WireHours name, logo, design, and all original content created by us (including but not limited to code, graphics, compliance engine logic, and documentation) are owned by WireHours and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without written permission.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of California.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email and by posting updated Terms on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
